New York Fashion Week - Thakoon Show

Posted on: September 26, 2009
New York Fashion Week was wonderful this year! I had the pleasure of working on hairstyles for Thakoon’s Spring 2010 line with Eugene Soloman and Diane Kendall. We did dozens of interviews with online magazines, beauty editors and international fashion reporters. It was an incredibly exciting experience and a tremendous inspiration for me as an artist.
Before the show, we prepared extensions at our salon.

And then it was off to the show…

Thakoon, Eugene and I were inspired by the “Seven Samurai.” The hair was styled up and off of the face to convey implicit functionality; it was molded, yet feminine to simultaneously express warrior strength and a unique, youthful sensuality.

Looks like so much fun!! where do you recommend for salons/hairstylists to buy hair from for shows and photoshoots? Do you like to glue them in?

Thanks, we had such a wonderful time there this year!

Helena NY is a great place to buy hair. Yes, we do use glue. Eyelash glue works well. However, it’s better for the hair if you sew the extensions to clips and then put those in the hair.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Wishes,
    Eva
