13th Street Salon Is Close To Completion!
Posted on: December 30, 2008
As 2008 winds down, so does the construction of the newest Eva Scrivo salon at 407 W. 13th Street, in the Meatpacking District! Although it has taken much longer than expected, the result will have been worth waiting for - a transformation of an old warehouse floor to a glamorous and intimate salon. We thank everyone for your patience and can’t wait for you to see the space. Above is a rendering of how it will look.
Our new salon is on the second floor of a landmarked building. Designed to look and feel like an elegant and intimate loft home, the 5000 square foot space its raw state used to house artist studios and an event space. Like the area itself, the salon blends elements of classic and modern, masculine and feminine, industrial and chic: beamed ceiling, original columns, and new espresso stained oak floors; 1950s chain mail curtains and contemporary stainless steel mirrors; vintage Venini chandeliers over the customer waiting area with custom suede benches and the Macassar Ebony front desk. In addition to the main salon with a wall of windows facing 13th Street, an additional room with 4 stations is reserved for those who prefer extra privacy. The back of the loft has a lounge for meetings and special events.
Barring last minute glitches we expect to be open in the next several weeks. However, until we have passed the final inspection and properly tested all of the plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, and myriad other elements that comprise a construction project of this magnitude, we will refrain from setting the exact date. Either way, we are very close and are so excited to bring in the New Year with our newest salon!
We thank all of you for your loyalty and support, wish you a very happy New Year, and look forward to seeing you at both of our locations in 2009!
